WEAPONS: Improvised weapons

Your ammo cans have ran dry, the grenades have all been cooked, and the arrows have all splintered inside of some zed's head. What do you do now? That is when you get creative. Rather they be a horde of zombies during the outbreak or a group of looters after a violent storm there is always potential for you to be victimized after any type of disaster. A survivor must be able to protect themselves even after your supplies are depleted. When the stockpiles are looking low is when the strong will attack. Don't be a victim. Make you own weapons. What is a weapon?

weap·on/ˈwepən/Noun

1. A thing designed or used for inflicting bodily harm or physical damage.
2. A means of gaining an advantage or defending oneself in a conflict or contest: "resignation threats are a weapon in his armory"

It seemed like a good idea at first.
Some examples of improvised weapons are sporting equipment such as baseball bats and golf clubs. Tools like pipe wrenches, shovels, axes and more work great as well. There are plenty of items just laying around that one could use as a weapon. The trick is improving the weapons you have found with some slight modifications. Squaring off a baseball bat will give it four very effective edges. Cutting a pipe of at an angle makes it an edged weapon too. Since this post is just touching on the topic of improvised weapons I encourage you to use the comment box at the bottom of the post to tell us your ideas for improvised weapons. This is the first post of a series. I am going to start posting about making improvised weapons on a regular basis.
